Do you like to dress up? I mean like more than just jeans, a tee shirt, and sandals? I mean like putting on a pretty dress, high-heeled shoes, and some dangling earrings?
Do you like to dress up like that?

I can hear some of you groaning now. “Dr. MaryAnn, you will NEVER, EVER, EVER get me to wear a dress!” Or, “I’m a jeans gal, and nothing can change that.”
I hear you!
I must admit, though, there’s something that makes a girl feel special when she’s all dressed up.
But, as special as being dressed up on the outside makes you feel, dressing up on the inside will make you feel even more special.
So, what does dressing up on the inside mean?
It means putting on those qualities that give you real beauty--the beauty that comes from the inside. The beauty that lasts forever, even when you grow old.
Listen to what the Bible says about how to dress: “Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God” (I Peter 3:3-4).
While there’s nothing wrong with wanting to look nice on the outside, it’s far more important to look nice on the inside. Dressing up on the inside means putting on a gentle and quiet spirit. That kind of spirit only comes from knowing Jesus Christ.
